The following description was taken from the Greenberg’s Guide to Marx Toys Vol. #2
Tumbling Monkey: 1942. 4 ¼”. The monkey wears a red outfit with black and white stripes and six white buttons. He has a small cap on his head. The Marx logo is printed near the monkey’s waist. The monkey holds two chairs with its arms while somersaulting between them. The chairs are yellow, red, and black.
Another toy firm made a balancing monkey with chairs, but, unlike the Marx Monkey the other company’s toy was made of cloth s well as tin. A German company and one in Japan made similar toys.
The Tumbling Monkey would for 39 cents in 1942 & came in an illustrated box.
