Donald Duck Disney Dipsy car 1953 5 ¾ inches long x 6 inches high.
In 1953 this toy sold for one dollar. The illustrated box for the Donald Duck car labeled Disney Dipsy car shows both Donald and Mickey which allowed Marx to used it for either toy.
The cars are identical to the Disney version of the Dora Dipsy car. The predominantly red and yellow multicolored car has goofy and Pluto on the top of the hood, Mickey Mouse on the left side of the car, and thumper on the right. On the left side of the trunk is Donald, and on the right side, Minnie. Only one of the two chipmunks, Chip is shown on the top of the trunk, while Pluto is pictured on the back. The large rear wheels have white spoke with Brad this in black and white stripes. The small front wheels are red and white. The name “Mickey Mouse” is on the radiator.
The car comes with either a plastic Mickey Mouse or a plastic Donald Duck. Unlike the Dora figure, the Mickey and Donald figures have arms that appear to be waving. Because the arms stick out of the car, they are frequently found to be broken or missing. The neck springs that make the characters necks not are visible since there is no neck piece covering them.
The Donald figure is also used in a small convertible car called Donald Duck the driver. Similar to other convertibles of this kind, the automobile works are lithograph on the bottom of the car. Disney characters are found on the convertible, too but the lithography is different from the Dipsy car.
LineMar also produced a tin Donald the driver car verse the plastic figure Marx produced.
Note, this box is similar to the Dipsy Dora & Dan box and can be used for either toy, Donald Duck or Mickey Mouse.
