The Robot Car by Trafficator Made in England by Louis Marx & Co. Dudley, worcs, circa 1930's. One of three versions of this particular style toy, this one steers its self by turning in circles and by signaling using its 'TRAFFICATOR" AKA turn signal. The term trafficator was first coined when the invention of the now turn signals was first being introduced. This also helps narrow down a potential timeline for this toy.
This tin lithographed coupe winds up and "self steers" its self by the small wheel located just underneath and behind the passenger and drivers seats. When the on/off lever is engaged the car drives forward and then the "trafficator" signals and the car turns and continues on its way.
The other cars in the series are each lithographed differently. A red " U Drive It" version has been seen as well as a cream version with bumpers that allow the car to change directions when it hits a solid surface or wall.
