Circa 1920 Marx/JAYMAR JIGSO: 4” by 2-1/2”: This novelty “Game” consists of “nine blocks of black magic” according to the instructions.
According to the pamphlet “JIGSO is an alluring game that can be played by young and old for hours without end. It is composed of nine (9) little black pieces that can be moved about producing different silhouettes in an almost magical manner. Figures, birds and designs in an unlimited quantity can be made without any experience – just by moving these pieces about. The original effects seem to “pop out”, frequently surprising the player and thus adding to interest of all who play JIGSO.”
The JIGSO is another crossover toy between Marx & the sister company JayMar. I have one other “crossover” toy the “Miracle Concealed color Painting Pencils”, both toys can be attributed to both Marx & Jaymar, as both logos can be found printed multiple times on each of the toys.
