Whoopie Car1932
Whoopee Cowboy: 1932 8” long x 6-1/2 “ high. This car appeared the year after the Bucking Bronco’ Coo Coo Care and was priced at 59 cents in the 1932 Sears Catalog. Other mail order houses ran ads for this toy through 1934. The toy uses the same red and black car and figure as the Coo Coo Car, but different lithography. The driver has a tan-colored band around his head that is shaped into a hat brim. The top of the cowboys Head is lithographed to match so that it appears as if he is wearing a cowboy hat. He wears a red shirt, tan chaps, and a gun on his belt.
The front of the car has a raised grille design stamped into the metal. Laughing cows are lithographed onto the wheels and the steering wheel. The back of the gas tank reads “Whoopee Car” and Louis Marx & Co., N. Y..” in the same fancy lettering as the Coo Coo Car. A variation of the Whoopee Cowboy Car has dots on the steering wheel, “7” on the seat and the Marx logo on both sides of the gas tank.. This cars lithography, except on the driver, is identical to the variation Coo Coo Car.
